This all-male hybrid produces a much larger yield of spears than 'Mary Washington', producing medium to large spears that are thick and have purple bracts. Heavy production will begin in the second year and the plants will remain productive for 10-15 years. Site selection and preparation are critical with such a long-lived vegetable.
